A deeply involved and dedicated parishioner at Annunciation Cathedral Greek Orthodox Church in Atlanta since 1968 and of the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Marietta, Georgia since 2003, Archon James A. “Jimmy” Frangis was born and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. At Annunciation Cathedral, he served as Parish Council Treasurer as well as Treasurer or the Atlanta Greek Festival. He also served on the strategic planning and fundraising committee for the $13M community center and gymnasium addition to the Cathedral campus. At Holy Transfiguration Church, he again served as Parish Council Treasurer, and as co-chair of the Building campaign fundraising committee. This ambitious $7 million building project added Sunday Schools rooms, offices for the Priests, a Board room for meetings, and a gymnasium for the youth to the existing facilities. All these projects are complete now and are being enjoyed by the parish at large. Archon Jimmy also served as GOYA Winter Youth Rally advisor and basketball coach for 10+ years. He was appointed to the Saint Photios National Shrine Board of Trustees in 2018 by his Eminence Metropolitan Alexios.

Archon Garifalakis is the principal owner of Omega Industries, headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, where he operates the largest main line railroad crossing supplier in the United States. His company also manufactures dredging parts and a variety of fabricated steel products at their four plants located throughout the US. He is a member of the Metropolis Council for the Metropolis of San Francisco, where he chairs the Fundraising and Development Committee. He and his family are generous supporters of their parish in Portland, of the Saint John the Forerunner Monastery in Goldendale, WA, and Saint Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center in Dunlap, CA. Archon Garifalakis currently serves as a member of the Archdiocesan Council, a position he has held for several years. He and Maria are also fulfilled members of Leadership 100.
